Midsummer Night Calendar

I just finished another project and I love how it turned out!  I used some of my favorite paper (Sweet Nothings by SEI), my favorite color combination (pink/brown), and followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday. The brown paper is from Kaisercraft. The image is Midsummer Tilda and I think she is adorable!  I used diamond stickles on her dress, colored her with copics, and inked the edges with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  The mini roses are from Prima.  I also used a Martha Stewart punch and added some ribbon to it.  I then made the card into an easel card/box with drawer.  I re-sized and printed out the 2011 calendar punched some holes and added two little heart shaped brads.

And one last shot with the drawer pulled open.  This would be perfect to sit by the telephone and to keep paper inside to jot down notes on!

Snowy Hug Thank You

Well, it's another snow day as ice and snow have hit us once again.  I'm sooo over this winter weather already!  But I figured since it was snowing outside, I might as well make another winter card, this time a Thank You card for some of those great Christmas presents!  I followed the sketch from Simon Says Stamp and I love how it turned out!  The paper is from this year's Bo Bunny winter collection and I love the brown and teal together.  I colored Snowy Hug with my copics, distressed the edges with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain (my favorite color!), and added some diamond stickles everywhere!  I then added a few snowflakes, some ribbon, and a computer generated sentiment. 

Sorry the pics are so dark, I'm still searching for my camera charger and have been forced to resort to the cell phone - not the best quality, but hopefully you can get the picture!  Here's another angle:

Fussy and Fancy DT Sketch Challenge

I'm back with another card for Fussy and Fancy.  This week, our challenge is a sketch by Mindy and it's a great one!  Check out our challenge and be sure to enter your project for a chance to win a great prize!  Sorry my picture's aren't the greatest.  I swear I think my charger has dropped off the face of the earth and my cell phone just isn't cutting it anymore!  Please bare with me until I can find a better camera!  In the meantime, here's my card!

I used Basic Grey Bittersweet collection and Bo Bunny Basics dot paper for this card.  The bridge image is from our great sponsor this week Digi Doodle and it makes a perfect background/accessory stamp!  The flowers are Primas and I pop dotted my Tilda image to give it some dimension.  Here's another angle:

And here's the inside.  I used more of the Bo Bunny Basics dot paper to tie the inside in with the front.  I also added the same ribbon to the inside.  Hope you like it and don't forget to enter your own card following the sketch for the week at Fussy and Fancy.

James the Bear Christmas

I'm back with my last card for the night and it's another James the Bear card.  What can I say - I'm in love with this little bear, lol, and with the Lili of the Valley stamps!  It took me almost two hours last night to order some new images but I finally got through!  Now the anticipation of waiting for them to arrive in my mailbox!  But anyways, like I said, here's a card to keep me satisfied until my new ones arrive.  I followed the sketch from Lili of the Valley and I LOVE how it turned out!  Yes, it's a Christmas card - I know, I know, Christmas is over.  But I've resolved that this year I will not be scurrying around at the last minute trying to find cards so I'll be making them all year long (I hope!).  So, here's the first one for my stash.  I used two pieces of My Mind's Eye designer paper from last year and I love how they compliment each other.  I used a Martha Stewart border punch and a white satin ribbon for the middle of the card.  I cut both the image and the sentiment out using my Circle spellbinders.  I inked the edges with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink and added a glitter snowflake ornament to two of the corners.  I colored James in with Copics and added Diamond Stickles just about everywhere to add to the overall sparkle of the card.

For the inside of the card, I used more of the same designer paper.  I added another ribbon and distressed the edges of my journaling block.  I hope you like it!

New Baby Boy Card

Here's another card I just finished and it's for a couple of "New Beginnings" challenges.  I needed a baby card for in my stash so I thought this would be perfect!  I used some Prism background paper and then used a baby boy piece of vellum  I had in my stash for the rest of the card and mounted it on white so it would show through.  The baby image is a digi from Digital Delights and the sentiment is a digi from Whimsy Stamps.  The edges are inked with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I followed the sketch from Crafter's Companion which had the option of something new.  I love how it turned out!

I miss my camera  = ( but life must go on.  I was busy yesterday creating some cards.  I followed the sketch at Get Sketchy for this one and I love how it turned out.  Clean and simple, but adorable nonetheless.  Of course that could be because I'm quite partial to my Lili of the Valley James the Bear stamp!  The paper I used was old paper from my stash, but I like the brown and blue combination!  I inked the edges with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  The sentiment is from TLC and the flowers are from prima.

I finished the inside of the card off very simply with the same designer paper from the inside, some ribbon, and a journaling spot.  Hope you like it!

Still no luck on finding my camera charger - I have absolutely no idea where it is and it's driving me crazy.  I used my cell phone to take these photos but I don't like it because it has taken FOREVER to upload!  Oh well, such is life - I just hope my charger turns up soon!  Anyways I created this as a gift for my mom.  She needed a new calendar for her desktop for 2011 so I thought this would be just perfect for her.  The designer paper is from Kaisercraft and I love this line!  I colored my Midsummer Tilda image with my copics and cut her out with my deckled rectangle spellbinders.  I inked the edges with Tim Holtz walnut stain distress ink and added three mini prima roses.  I kept it clean and simple, but I love the way it turned out!  I made it into a box drawer card so she can hide some goodies inside.

Tilda's Warm Winter Wishes

Boy, 2011 sure hasn't started off on the right track for me so far!  I swore I would become more organized this year and my camera charger has already disappeared into thin air!  It's bad enough that over the summer my really nice camera got a crack in the screen leaving me with just my one camera - but of course it's a camera that doesn't take batteries - it needs to be charged!  These were the last photos that I had taken with it before it died on me and they are of a card I made with a couple of challenges in mind.  I followed the recipe asked for by Magnolia-licious Highlites (4 Flowers, 3 DP, 2 Magnolia images, and 1 ribbon) as well as the sketch for Friday Sketchers and I really love how it turned out.  I hope it was all right that I included my second image on the inside of my card - I just don't think I could have fit anything else on the card front!  The papers I used were all from the same collection by the Paper Studio from last year and I love how the hues of blue and whites coordinate together!  My image is Tilda with Fir from the Merry Little Christmas Collection.  I colored her with my copics and added distress stickles to her hat trim and coat trim.  I then distressed the edges with Tim Holtz stormy sky distress ink - I love this color!  I added a satin ribbon/bow to the front and then added my flowers.  I glimmer misted three of them in Frost Glimmer mist to match the paper and one in Pearl to give them some sparkle.  I added bling to the middle of the flowers and for the white one I colored the pearl with one of my coordinating copics.  The sentiment is by Whimsy Stamps.

For the inside, I added the designer paper that you see the least of from the front to tie it all together.  I then added a big snowflake ornament to the one side and left space for my note on the other.  The Tilda that I used here was sent to me by a friend and I just love her.  She's a special limited edition and I'm unsure of her name, but she's a cutie.  I colored her up in matching colors and added diamond stickles to her hat and scarf.  I think she looks so cute sitting there hanging off the paper!

Secret Tilda Birthday Card

Wow!  I can't believe another year has come and gone - where does the time go?  It sure does seem to go faster and faster each year!  I hope everyone had a safe and happy New Years.  I spent it with friends and loved ones so it was a good way to start the new year.  Here's to health, happiness, and prosperity in 2011!   Here is my first card of the new year - a birthday and celebration card for a friend.  I used my favorite color scheme once again, pink and brown, and followed the sketch from Pixie Cottage which had the added option of a party/celebration theme.  I love how the sketch turned out!  The paper is Sweet Nothings from SEI  (I LOVE how glittery the paper is!) and the image is my new stamp that I just love, Secret Tilda.  She is from the Merry Little Collection and can be found at 7Kids.com, but I love how versatile she can be.  She made the perfect image for a birthday card!  I used my Deckled Spellbinders to punch out the image and the classic circles spellbinders to cut out the sentiment and background piece.  I added a piece of brown satin ribbon and bow, a Tim Holtz adage ticket, and Prima flowers.  I also inked the edges of the image and sentiment with Tim Holtz Walnut Ink Distress Ink.  I added Cotton Candy stickles to Tiilda's lace around her shirt and pants, her hair bow, and the bow on her package.
