Exciting News!

I have some exciting news to share with you for the new year!  I was chosen to be a new designer for the Fussy and Fancy Design Team!!!!  I have loved participating in their challenges and I can't wait to design for them in the upcoming year, so be on the lookout for some new projects and ideas!  In fact, here's a new project right now!  This was designed for their upcoming challenge of "Celebration" and it was created for my niece who loves celebrating winter and snow.  She also loves bears, so I thought this image (James the Bear from Lili of the Valley) would be perfect for her!  For this challenge, we were to create a 3-D project to go along with the card.  Well, I thought and I thought and I couldn't decide what I wanted to do, so I made a whole matching set!  I made a card using the sketch from Lili of the Valley and I love how it turned out!  I also used the same sketch for the matching gift bag that I created as well.  Finally, my 3D projects were a stamped candle and a winter snowglobe.  This is going to be a long post with a lot of pictures, so I apologize in advance!!  Here's the whole matching set:

Here's the snow globe I made for her - It's the second one I've done and I love how they both turned out.  This one is a slightly smaller version than the one I posted earlier using Magnolia images.  I covered the small round tin with some paper from my stash, used glossy accents to secure some trees in the background, then adhered my stamped image (after he was colored with my Copics and cut out of course!).  I then added Polar White Flowersoft for snow before using Glossy Accents to glue the bowl to the top of the tin.  I was surprised how well it held after a few second dry time.

Here's the matching card.  I colored all of the images in using the same colors and for this card I followed the sketch from Lili of the Valley.  I cut him out using my deckled rectangle Spellbinders, inked the edges with Stormy Sky Distress ink and added a Digital sentiment from Whimsy Stamps.  I then added Diamond Stickles everywhere!

Here's the matching gift bag for all of her gifts to go in and I LOVE how it turned out!  I used a plain blue bag from the dollar store, added blue/silver sparkly ribbon from AC Moore to the top and bottom of the bag, then followed the sketch from Lili of the Valley for the bag as well.  I added the same image and digital sentiment, but added two flowers in the corner which were glimmer misted with Frost Glimmer Mist and Pearl Glimmer Mist which can be found at StampingScrapping.com.  I then tied a bow using the same ribbon and adhered it to the handle of the gift bag.  I think it turned out pretty well for my first bag!

And finally the candle.  I love this technique and it is SOOO easy!  I stamped the image on a piece of white tissue paper, colored it in with copics and cut around the image closely.  I then placed the image where I wanted it to be on the candle and wrapped a piece of wax paper around it.  I melted the image onto the candle using my heat embossing tool, then added Diamond stickles for the snow and on his hat.  Finally, two pieces of snowflake ribbon and a bow completed this easy project.

Holiday Home Decor

I'm back with another holiday project I just finished.  This frame/home decor item was made with the Magnolia-licious Highlites challenge in mind.  Diana is asking for letter or word creations and with the Big Guy's day nearly upon us, I thought this would make a great last minute addition to our decorations.  I used one of the panoramic acrylic frames from AC Moore, inserted the designer paper which was from my stash, and then applied everything to the top of the acrylic.  I made it so that the frame is actually upside down so that it slants downward, if you know what I mean?  I colored my two Magnolia images with my Copics and cut them out.  Believe is from my Christmas Solutions cartridge and is probably one of my favorite cuts ever!  I cut it in white glitter paper and pop dotted it on the frame.  It looks like Santa is leaning on the B and I think it turned out pretty cute.  I added Diamond stickles just about everywhere to make it sparkly - what holiday project is complete without a little sparkle and a whole lot of glitter everywhere?

Blue LOTV Christmas

I'm back with another Christmas card - this one'll probably be for my stash...until I realize I've forgotten a card and need one at the last minute!  My color scheme for this card was Silver, Blue, and White, following Simon Says Stamp challenge.  I love these colors and I was pretty happy with the way it turned out.  I wish I knew the name of the paper that I used, but I found it in my stash and there was no label.  It's really sparkly and a nice combination of dark blue, silver, and white.  I used one of my favorite images - James the Bear and colored him with my copics.  I then added Diamond Stickles everywhere again and inked the edges with Tim Holtz Stormy Sky Distress Ink.  I followed the monthly sketch from Crafter's Companion and love how it turned out.  I also used a free digital image from TLC that I thought went perfectly with this image.  I used a Copic Spica glitter pen for the snowflakes and diamond stickles to the snow in the sentiment.  I also distressed these edges as well.  I added some white glittery snowflakes and some bling.

Winter Snow Globe

I just added the finishing touches to another Christmas present I have been working on.  This one is a Snowglobe I made using a bowl from the Dollar store, a Cookie tin from Wal Mart, some mini Christmas trees from JoAnn's, my Cricut, and two adorable Magnolia images.  I used the Winter Fence and Snowy Hug, colored them with Copics and cut them out by hand.  The paper I used was from last year's Winter Blues from the Paper Studio.  I adhered the paper to my tin, added a ribbon around the lip of it and adhered my images and trees to the top of the tin using Scor-Tape.  I think it creates a beautiful winter scene and I love the way it turned out!  I then cut out the word "Believe" from my Christmas Solutions cartridge and glued it to the front of the tin.  I added a sentiment that says "Those who don't believe in magic will neve find it".  I thought it went perfectly along with the magic of the Christmas season!  I added a TON of diamond stickles everywhere on the two images to make them sparkle and shine through the glass.  Finally I added some Polar White Flowersoft for snow to make the perfect white winter display when shaken!

Magnolia Love

Here's another card I just finished for the Totally Tilda Challenge.  Originally, I had thought it was going to be a Christmas card for my DBF, but then I remembered I had already made one for him and I got these awesome Magnolia papers in the mail from Staming Scrapping.com.  So, it turned more into a Valentine's day card for him, I do believe.  As I mentioned, the papers dot papers and the heart papers are both from Magnolia and the other two are from Kaisercraft.  I love these colors together!  The sketch I used was from Tickled Pink's monthly challenge and I think it worked well for this card.  I colored my image with my Copics, cut it out with my deckled rectangles spellbinders and inked the edges with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain distress ink (my fav!).  The heart was from my stash and the Love sentiment was a digi from TLC.  The roses are Prima mini roses that I thought went well with the card.  I hope you like the way it turned out (It was a nice change of pace from my many Christmas cards I've been working on and have yet to do).

Here's another card I just finished working on and I love the way it turned out.  The image is one I received from a friend and I think she's just adorable!  She can be found at All That Scraps.com.  I colored her with my Copics, added some diamond stickles and cut her out with my Labels Spellbinders.  I then inked the edges with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  The sketch is from Sunday Sketch & Stamp and I think it worked great for this card!  The paper is from My Minds Eye Glitter Christmas pack from last year.  I added some brown snowflake ribbon from Michaels and some of the Christmas Poinsettias from Prima.

Untraditional Christmas

Here's another card I just finished.  I was hoping to get it entered in the Friday Sketchers Challenge, as that's the sketch I followed, but it apepars I'm too late once again - I need to get better at these deadlines!  But anyways, it's another Christmas card finished nonetheless and I'm happy with it overall.  I wasn't too sure about the color scheme of pink, blue, and green, but I like the way it turned out.  The paper is from Basic Grey (Eskimo Kisses) and the image is from the Merry Little Christmas line from Magnolia.  I colored her with my Copics, then cut her out with my Deckled Rectangles Spellbinders.  I distressed the edges with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink, added the sentiment and some of the Prima mini roses in pink and blue.

Froosty Christmas Wishes

Whew!  I'm finally back to making some cards!  It's been a busy week with the hustle and bustle of the season and trying to get things accomplished before Christmas!  This is my brand new stamp I just received from a friend and I LOVE him (He's available at 7KidsCollegeFund.com you should get one for yourself!).  I followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday and I love how it turned out.  The paper I used is My Minds Eye Glitter Christmas stack from last year and I love the browns and blues together.  The circle sentiment was a digital freebie offered by Bizzy Bec's Store Blog and I've used these for most of my Christmas cards this year - I love them!  The snowflakes are actually buttons I found at Joanns and I thought they worked perfectly for this project.  I colored up Froosty and added Diamond stickles just about everywhere - I love how sparkly this card is!  I then inked the edges with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink to coordinate with the papers.  I cut the circle sentiments out with my Circle Spellbinders, which can be found at StampingScrapping.com.  Finally, I added turquoise bling to the center of the snowflakes.

Christmas Angel

Here's another holiday card I just finished up.  I followed the sketch from Meljensdesignsdt Challenge and think it turned out pretty cute.  The paper is Wassail from Basic Grey and the image is a Christmas angel from Whimsy stamps.  The Happy Holidays is a Imaginisce rub on sentiment that I think is perfect for my holiday cards.  The edges are dsitressed with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  I colored the image in with my copics, cut her out by hand and added Diamond Stickles to her wings to make them sparkly.  I added a ribbon at the bottom.

Christmas Gift

This project won at All That Scraps!



Wow!  I sure have  been busy creating this past week.  Sooooooo much to do and not enough time to get everything finished by Christmas!  Why am I always such a procrastinator!  Here's another project I just finished for a 12 Days of Christmas swap I'm in on the Cricut MB.  I decided to try my hand at a Tissue Box holder and I absolutely love how it turned out!  I was going to make a Christmas Tissue Box, but I figured this way my partner could use it year round if she wanted to.  I used my favorite color combination for this one, as pink and brown is also a favorite of my partners.  I followed the sketch from Totally Gorjuss for each side of the box and I think it turned out cute.  The paper is by Kaisercraft and I got it from StampingScrapping.com.  I also got my Magnolia pink garland there as well.  My flowers were originally white ones by Recollection, but I colored them with my pink copic (R81) and sprayed them with my Pearl Glimmer Mist to make them sparkle and shine.  The pink bling I used is also from Kaisercraft.  I used four Tilda images (Midsummer Tilda, Dinner Tilda, Sweet Tilda, and Fairydust Tilda) and cut each of them out by hand and mounted them on the pink paper.  These Magnolia images can be found here at All That Scraps.  I'm sending a box of kleenexes along, but did not want to open them yet as they're not for me.  I hope you like my first attempt at one of these projects!
